What We Do
Escape to one of Australia’s most famous natural attractions …
Just a couple of hours west of Sydney lies the secrets and cosy ambience of our spectacular Blue Mountains … steeped in history, oozing charm and framed by nature’s wonders.
A jaunt to unwrap the natural gifts of this world-heritage listed destination has long been a favourite Sydneysiders’ escape and we know you’ll love our mountains as much as we do!
This is another Local Eyes experience that can be anything you want it to be. If you share our passion for bushwalking and getting close to nature, we’ll trek to the secret places we’ve discovered during our many years exploring this amazing part of the world.
If you’d rather simply soak up the amazing sights, we’ll show you more breathtaking landscapes and more insights to the Blue Mountains culture – this beautiful region of Australia has always been a lure for creative people and a stroll through its towns is an eclectic mix of art and intrigue.
Whatever your choice, a day of fun, surprises and awe-inspiring scenery beckons … as you experience the drama and grandeur of the Blue Mountains, through our local eyes.
The Highlights
Dramatic landscape, eclectic culture, native flora and fauna
We make one stop along the way to the majestic Blue mountains because Featherdale Wildlife Park is a great taste of the day ahead. Here you can get ‘up close and personal’ with a range of native Australian animals, including patting kangaroos and close up to koalas – then we’re on the road again in our luxury vehicle.
Our next stop is for morning tea in the bush atop the cliff faces of the mountains. Re-energised we head a short way to soak up the splendour of one of the world’s most glorious vistas, high above Wentworth Falls.
Then, a really special hour or so as we take you on an amazing native bush walk … we’ll share our favourite places and we promise you an experience that far exceeds the well-worn tourist tracks.
If you’d prefer something a little less energetic, but equally special there are plenty of other secret wonders we can share with you before we enjoy luncheon at beautiful Leura and one of our favourite cafe’s – The Garage – it’s eclectic, friendly and the sumptuous menu alone is worth the drive!
In the afternoon there’s more exploring as we visit Sublime Point, the iconic Three Sisters and take a stroll through the historic streets of Leura and Katoomba before a leisurely drive back to Sydney to reflect on a day of rejuvenation and wonder.
Good To Know
Your Experience is private – for individuals, couples or your group of up to 7 people. It includes entry and a guided tour of Featherdale Wildlife Park as well as morning tea, lunch, snacks and water. When you book please have a chat with Alex or Jamie about how you’d like to spend your day in the mountains. Whatever you choose, remember to bring your walking shoes and your camera!
Your Food – Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements so we can plan ahead.
Your Transfers – We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 8am and drop you back by 6pm.
