TAKE A WALK ON SYDNEY’S WILD SIDE

CONNECT WITH NATURE, TANTALISE YOUR SENSES

What We Do

We go ‘off the beaten track’ to discover the Sydney few tourists ever see

Most people think of ‘boats’ when Sydney Harbour comes to mind but this experience is about exploring our world-famous waterway from the native bushland that lines her foreshores.

The two walks we share with you are true escapes for Sydney locals – and, for you too. The sights of Australia’s fascinating wildlife, the scents of our stunning native flowers and the sounds of the sea will awaken your senses.

As we walk, we share stories and a little slice of Sydney that tourists rarely experience as we show you our favourite places, through our local eyes.

Lunching at our home is another sensual adventure as we take you on a journey to explore the unique tastes of Australia – Alex adds a twist of native flavours to each home-cooked course and Jamie matches her culinary creations with quality Australian wines.

And..because this is Sydney, the experience does include ‘boats’!  As the sun sets on your day seeing Sydney through our local eyes, we’ll enjoy a great Aussie beer at our local yacht club – and, most likely, a good laugh with our sailing mates!

The Highlights

A rare chance to experience the flip side of Sydney’s cosmopolitan lifestyle

We take a walk on Sydney’s wild side to discover her hidden treasures … along the way we’ll laugh with kookaburras and marvel at beautiful wildflowers. Jamie’s former business was exporting native flora, so he has countless fascinating facts about their wonders to share with you.

Another of Jamie’s passions is Australia’s native wildlife and he also has a myriad of intriguing stories to share about the water dragons, birds and other native creatures we’ll encounter.

You’ll love soaking up the charm of the rustic fishermen’s huts we’ll discover, nestled on the lapping waters of a secluded bay … their tales of days gone by are painted on the canvas of their multi-million dollar harbour vista.

We also visit a site with Indigenous rock carvings and stroll along a collection of stunning Sydney Harbour beaches, including a natural marine park … their inviting sparkling waters may even tempt you to take a dip.

This is a day of moments we think you’ll remember forever, a day of connecting with nature – and, with ‘the locals’.

Need To Know

Our walking pace is easy and relaxed, but we do cover about 7.5km of bush tracks so we ask you to embrace your adventurous spirit and have a medium level of fitness.

To gain an idea of the experience and the terrain, please take a look at the video below.  If you think some areas of the walk may be a little too tough, just let us know – we can personalise it for you.  There are crafted walkways that connect you with Sydney’s nature so you’ll still come close to our wildlife and wildflowers … and, we have a couple of other Sydney secrets up our sleeves that we can share with you!

We hope you enjoy our video – and a special thank you to Jeff and Diane who were kind enough to let our camera share their private experience.

Jeff and Diane from USA share their Off The Beaten Track experience:

“For me it exceeded expectations. I knew we were going to see beautiful things, but I didn’t expect we would have such wonderful hosts. Jamie and Alex were able to show us the part of Sydney that we really wanted to see … getting close to nature, getting to know people. It’s just very personal … luncheon at their home was beyond what I could have hoped for. We really got a feeling of what it’s like to live in Sydney … so we’re really glad we went on this tour, it’s been very special! ”
